A tiny bit over a month ago I started my new job in Dayton Ohio, relocating 135 miles from everything I’d known. Finding rentals wasn’t easy, and I had to set up shop in a weekly rate hotel. Thankfully the hotel is in a great area, but there’s some less than savory characters here to say the least.

Today, I put down my deposit and got myself a condo in the Huber Heights area, which is about 15 miles closer to work versus Miamisburg where I’m at now. The price was great, the neighborhood is nice enough and I’ve always like HH. To say I’m relieved is the world’s biggest understatement.

Now the fun of moving begins... ugh

I grew up in Huber Heights. It’s a good  city. I live in the Hearthstone neighborhood of Dayton now.

There’s a lot going on in the Dayton area these days. I hope you like it here.

First four games of the NCAA basketball tournament where eight teams compete to get into the main tournament. It has been at the Univeristy of Dayton Arena for a number of years now.

The UD Arena is a great place to see a basketball game. I highly recommend going to a Flyers game sometime this season. It’s one of the quintessential Dayton experiences.

I’m in my 4th year of undergrad at UD. Huber Heights is a great place. I’m currently casually looking for a place to live while I work on my MS next year. If you haven’t already, you should go to Submarine House. Their sandwiches are great, but they have the best fries I’ve ever had.

It seems like we could have enough people to do a Cin-Day meetup. I’m on the north side of Cincinnati just within the 275 loop. Not too far from Dayton. I know there’s some other oppos down this way and around as well. I believe one from Lebanon too:

Ohhhh no issue at all haha. I’m a trucker and caught a job with Central Transport there in Vandalia. Home daily, off weekends, and more money than OTR! Plus, no dealing with customers and their needs and bullshit.

Couldn’t be happier :)
